Role Summary:
We are seeking a Compliance – Health and Safety Senior Manager to lead and enhance our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. Based in Winnipeg, Canada, the successful candidate will have extensive expertise in EHS management, particularly in industrial and engineering environments, and a proven track record of developing, implementing, and managing robust EHS initiatives. This role requires a strong leader with a solid project management background and the ability to influence a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
The Compliance – Health and Safety Senior Manager will oversee a dedicated team and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations, as well as company and client-specific EHS requirements. The candidate will play a pivotal role in driving a zero-injury culture and advancing sustainability practices.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to establish and implement EHS policies, strategies, and objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals, fostering a high-performing and engaged culture.
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
- Provide expertise and guidance during facility planning, expansions, and other workplace changes to meet EHS requirements.
- Conduct workplace assessments, audits, and safety evaluations, advising on corrective actions as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement of EHS programs, processes, and systems.
- Facilitate EHS training and briefing sessions to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe work environment.
- Lead EHS committees and initiatives to encourage employee ownership of safety and environmental responsibilities.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
- Identify and execute sustainability and pollution prevention projects to minimize environmental impact.
- Utilize EHS platforms to enhance reporting and employee engagement.
- Provide flexible support for off-shift or weekend activities as necessary.

To be considered for this role, the “Compliance- Health & Safety Senior Manager” must have the following qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 9 years of experience, or a graduate degree
- with 7 years of experience in EHS leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations,
- particularly in Canada.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement risk assessments, policies, and training
- programs.
- Exceptional leadership and project management skills with the ability to guide cross-
- functional teams effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- CRST (Canadian Registered Safety Technician) or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation
