EHS Recruiting Process
We start our recruitment process by conducting an in-depth discussion with our client to gain a comprehensive understanding of company operations and objectives.
Next, we help scope the role, clearly defining the position’s qualifications depending on the seniority and client’s sector, set expectations of the role and personal qualities.
Your designated recruitment consultant and your sector-specific EHS executive partner will start screening our candidate network and target both active and passive opportunity seekers.
EHS Screening and selection process
As environmental, health & safety industry experts, we are uniquely positioned to screen and select the top candidates that best satisfy the client’s recruitment requirements.
Your designated recruitment consultant sets two initial interviews with the top selected candidates prior to introducing the candidates to you. The scope of the initial interview is on educational and professional achievement, character, personality, and interpersonal skills.
A leadership assessment is also completed during the initial interview. The assessment will provide objective insight into the candidates’ underlying behavioral preferences and how these are likely to impact their performance in a work setting.
The second interview is conducted by your sector-specific EHS executive partner with an exclusive focus on verifying the candidates’ technical skills and environmental health and safety knowledge.
The scope of EHS technical assessment includes but not limited to:
– Knowledge of both federal (Canada Labour Code II) and provincial occupational health and Safety Act and regulations.
– Comprehensive knowledge in hazard recognition, assessment, and control.
– Understanding of incident investigation and root cause analysis
– Management system auditing principles
Additional knowledge verification may include:
– Certificate of recognition (CORTM)
– ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001
– Confined space entry/Lockout Tag out procedure
Only the top selected successful candidates will be introduced to our clients for further review. At this stage, the candidates’ educational, credential background, and reference checks have been verified.
