Compensation Range:

This position offers an attractive benefits and an annual salary of Salary Range: $140,000 to $160,000.

Role Summary:

The Senior Manager, Corporate HSEQ is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, environment, and quality systems across the organization. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, promotes a culture of safety and quality, and drives continuous improvement in HSEQ performance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include:

HSEQ Strategy and Leadership: 

  • Develop and implement the corporate HSEQ strategy, policies, and procedures. 
  • Provide leadership and support to HSEQ teams across all business units, promoting a culture of safety, environmental awareness, and quality excellence. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all HSEQ-related matters within the organization.

 Compliance and Risk Management: 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards. 
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented. 
  • Develop, maintain and execute a risk management framework to proactively identify and mitigate HSEQ risks.
  • Develops and maintains effective cross-divisional communications with project and associated company health, safety, regulatory and environment personnel, to ensure a coordinated and efficient corporate approach to program and service delivery. 

Training and Development: 

  • Oversee the development and delivery of HSEQ training programs to ensure all managers, project teams and HSE personnel are knowledgeable and competent in relevant practices and procedures.
  • Foster a continuous learning environment, promoting the development of HSEQ skills and knowledge across the organization. 
  • Work closely with Operations Managers to ensure there is confidence and understanding of the HSEQ regulations,  organization’s  systems and appropriate knowledge to manage project HSE personnel.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: 

  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor HSEQ performance. 
  • Prepare regular reports on HSEQ performance for senior management, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and success stories. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HSEQ incidents and near misses.

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in HSEQ processes and performance.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness of HSEQ management systems. 
  • Facilitate regular reviews and updates of HSEQ policies, procedures and systems

Stakeholder Engagement: 

    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. 
    • Support the investigation and management of HSEQ incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented. 
    • Coordinate with relevant authorities and stakeholders during emergency situations.

      To be considered for this role, the “HSEQ Senior Manager” you’ll have the following qualification:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. 
      • 5+ years in a senior management role. 
      • -Knowledge of the marine industry practices and processes. 
      • Experience with First Nations workforce  is an assest
      • Strong knowledge of HSEQ regulations, standards, and best practices. 
      •  Proven track record of successful HSEQ strategy development and implementation. 
      •  Substantial experience and demonstrated capability for influencing strategies, plans, programs, systems, and cultural change initiatives. 
      • Demonstrated experience in report writing to a senior level.
      •  Demonstrated knowledge of relationship management principles and practices. 
      • Demonstrated capability to develop and nurture business relationships with industry leaders and stakeholders in order to identify their needs and act as their advocate in proactively communicating those needs and managing issues.
      •  Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
      • Proficiency in HSEQ management systems and software. 
      • Additional safety designations and certifications such as  CRSP, NCSO , CSP, NEBOSH, ISO 14001, MSEMS preferred 
      • Familiarity with ISO, SOLAS, MARPOL, COR and ISM is an asset
