Role Summary:
The Data Analyst- Occupational Health & Safety Supports the data management and reporting functions of the Health and Safety Team. Ensures that all key information necessary to assess the company’s H&S performance is accurate up to date and timely. This Supports development of data presentations in a format that facilitates decision-making and external reporting. The reporting structure is to the Vice President, Health and Safety.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include
- Compile monthly statistics and corporate roll-up reports for Health and Safety to support internal reporting (monthly and quarterly).
- Develop and maintain data presentation formats, trend analysis, and other methods to help analyze the Company’s Health and Safety data and assess performance.
- Coordinate annual data collection for Health and Safety, and help develop data presentation (graphics, analysis, etc.) to convey key messages for external stakeholders.
- Manage corporate databases for Health and Safety functions and any associated information systems.
- Develop and maintain systems to track publicly available benchmarking data for peer and other companies’ Health and Safety performance.
- Help maintain the library of Corporate management systems and standards for Health and Safety (familiarity with SharePoint or other tools for document management).
- Collaborate with all Kinross Sites to ensure all reporting material is consistent and accurate.
- Contributing to annual Health and Safety reports, compiling data, facts, reports.
- Identify continuous improvement as it relates to underlying business process related to data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Provide constant support to the global users in the various H&S systems and tools for data collection and reporting (Intelex, 3E, Marsh 360, etc.).
- Familiar with administrative duties (organizing virtual meetings, preparing emails with key data/information, arranging PowerPoint presentations, preparing summary of documents or reports, etc.).
- Support and participate in the JHSC at the Toronto corporate office and attend various meetings, sessions and functions.
To be considered for this role, the “Data Analyst- Occupational Health & Safety” you’ll have the following qualification:
- Degree, post-graduate deiploma or certificate in Health and Safety or Data Analysis or relevant field.
- Additional certificates or courses completed in related topics are an asset.
- One or more years of experience in the mining industry or other resources-based industry preferred.
- One or more years of experience working as an analyst (familiarity with health and safety data is an asset).
- Expert level skills in Excel. Proficiency with databases, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Power-user or better for web-based systems such as SharePoint.
- Familiar with Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Familiar with EHS tools (e.g. Intelex for H&S reports, 3E for SDS, Marsh 360 for impairments) is an asset.
- Graphic design and data visualization skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication and relationship skills – able to work with people to get reports submitted on time, and to identify and resolve reporting issues.
- Team player – successful in a high-performance culture
- Working knowledge of a second language an asset (Kinross’ key languages Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Arabic)
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job duties.
