We are supporting our hiring client, a national Canadian company in the Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Industrial Redevelopment sectors (a multi—billion— dollar asset company), in hiring an environmental project manager to join their team in Thorold or Straford, Ontario.

This position is full-time permanent and hybrid; 2 days in office (Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Environmental Project Manager Role Summary:

The Project Manager, Environmental is responsible for coordinating and managing excess soil projects and environmental site assessment projects across various sites. The position is a hybrid of on-site in Thorold or Stratford, Ontario, work from home and occasional travel to various sites, as required.

Environmental Project Manager Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and retention of a consultant(s) and/or contractors to complete excess soil projects.
  • Coordination and retention of consultant(s) to complete environmental site assessment projects.
  • Review reports and provide summaries.
  • Acquire purchase orders and review consultant/contractor invoices.
  • Attend weekly meetings to provide project status updates.
  • Liaison with the Manager, Environmental to provide support regarding sustainability initiatives achieved through each RAP.
  • Attend conferences and workshops.
  • Other relevantscope as assigned.

To be considered for this role, the “Environmental Project Manager” must have the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working with Ontario Regulation 406/19 (Excess Soil),
  • Proficiency in environmental monitoring, sampling and data analysis processes
