Role Summary:
We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Site Supervisor to collaborate with management, supervisors, and subcontractors to integrate HSE practices into all aspects of construction, commissioning, and plant operation, promote a culture of safety and environmental management, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and corporate policies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include
- Serve as the liaison to oversee different HSE activities during the final phase of construction, entire commissioning phase, and one month of plant operation (likely to end June/July 2025).
- Promote a positive safety culture by engaging employees in safety initiatives, encouraging the reporting of hazards, incidents, and near-misses, and recognizing safe work practices.
- Develop and oversee the Permit to Work system for construction and commissioning.
- Conduct regular safety meetings with site teams to ensure that safety concerns are addressed promptly and that all team members are informed of current HSE initiatives.
- Develop understanding of site activities and sequences and deliver site-specific HSE training to employees, as required, i.e., safe work procedures for Commissioning.
- Lead investigations of incidents to determine root causes and identify preventive measures.
- Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance activities.
- Assist with development and finalization of safe work procedures for Operations.
- And Other duties as assigned
To be considered for this role, the “Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Site Supervisor ” must have the following qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree , Certificate, or Diploma in health and safety or in a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience
- Extensive knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in Manufacturing sector.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement risk assessments, policies, and training
programs. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- CRST (Canadian Registered Safety Technician) , CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or NCSO are considered ideal designations
