inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction services for railway structures across the country
through its operating divisions for an HSE Field Manager to join their team in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The company began in Eastern Canada in 1996 and has expanded nationally, with capabilities that
include structural services and steel fabrication to support rail clients coast to coast.

HSE Field Manager Role Summary:

The HSE Field Manager is a critical, client-facing role focused on managing health, safety, and environmental compliance for major rail and infrastructure projects, specifically supporting Metrolinx and VIA Rail.

This role involves overseeing field operations across various Ontario sites, including Chatham and Courtice Yard, ensuring all contractor requirements and safety standards are met through auditing, training, and documentation management.

The position requires flexibility, including on-site audits, work block attendance (nights and weekends), and administrative work from a home office.

HSE Field Manager Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:

Field Compliance & Auditing:

  • Conduct weekly and monthly site inspections for long-term projects.
  • Attend Metrolinx and VIA work blocks, including day and night shifts.
  • Perform project-specific audits (e.g., SK and VIA Chatham locations).
  • Execute hoisting, rigging, and annual PPE inspections.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management:

  • Manage client HSE requirements and lead client-facing meetings.
  • Lead COR (Certificate of Recognition) audit preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across sites.
  • Schedule and lead emergency rescue drills.

Training & Technical Services:

  • Manage and deliver company training programs.
  • Conduct fit testing for personnel.
  • Provide specialized rescue services (confined space, water, ice rescue).

Administration & Documentation:

  • Create and maintain HSE documentation.
  • Use SiteDocs for safety documentation management.
  • Maintain accurate staff training records.

To be considered for this role, the “HSE Field Manager” must have the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary Health & Safety education (Degree, Certificate, or Diploma)
  • 2–5 years of experience in rail, infrastructure, or construction sectors
  • Working towards CRST or NCSO designation
  • Experience with hoisting/rigging inspections, PPE auditing, and fit testing (preferred)
  • Training in Work at Heights (WAH), Water/Ice Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue (preferred)
  • Ability to travel across Ontario and occasionally Western Canada
