An Overview of the Role :

A Quality, Safety, and Environment Manager/Expert ensures the company’s compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards and regulations. The QSE manager establishes and maintains effective quality management systems, promoting a safe working environment, and implementing sustainable environmental practices. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that optimize quality, safety, and environmental performance while driving continuous improvement.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as link between Corporate Quality and Plant Management
  • On-time delivery to both internal and external customers
  • Cost avoidance / Budget compliance
  • Compliance with all Quality Management System Policies and Procedures
  • Compliance with all Delfingen, State, and Local Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures
  • General Housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Representative to customers as mediator for quality and delivery issues regarding the product produced and shipped by the company
  • Compliance to IATF 16949 rules and regulations

Authorities:

The Quality, Safety & Environment Manager is authorized to:

  • Stop any process that compromises, or will potentially compromise, product quality, personnel safety, environmental health, or proprietary information
  • Lock out/tag out any equipment as required to maintain a safe work environment
  • Submit opportunities for improvement to the highest management level necessary to obtain reasonable responses and satisfactory results
  • Report directly to the plant manager any activities that are in violation of Delfingen’s social policy

Main Activities:

  • Manage process 1 and 5 (refer to org chart)
  • Handle Internal, Customer and External Audits and take necessary actions as needed
  • Staffing and evaluating quality department personnel
  • Co-ordinating annual management reviews
  • Control and maintain “Product related” (i.e. Resin) SDS system
  • CAR and NCRM review and approval
  • Assist in Advanced Quality Planning activities
  • PPAP approval
  • Defects and PPM evaluation and analysis
  • Internal Quality System audits
  • Ensure calibration systems are effective
  • Maintain document control system
  • Technical support for customers as needed
  • Management representative for management review meetings
  • New part review process verification
  • Manage the Safety meeting and follow up the safety actions
  • Contributing to the deployment of the QSE Policy by applying and enforcing ISO, QHSE, HSE standards
  • Planning, conducting, or overseeing audits for workstations, HSE, internal, product, and process
  • Handling internal nonconformities and customer complaints
  • Monitoring, animating and managing cross-functional QSE action plans
  • Coordinating client portal access and providing user support
  • Identifying customer needs or requirements: Scorecards, Objectives, Communication, 3D – 8D, Improvement plan, Corrective & Preventive Action, Consistency between Delfingen response at the WW level, Web portal
  • Analyzing QSE indicators and proposing improvements/optimizations
  • Organize and complete audits, studies and activities required to ensure Quality System compliance and report results to site management
  • Assist in training new personnel to perform duties for which he/she is qualified to perform
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience

  • A B.A. / B.S. in Quality Assurance or Industrial Engineering, preferably
  • Minimum two years experience in a high volume continuous process environment
  • Experience in gauge R&R techniques, SPC, and other technical/analytical methods
  • Automotive APQP, PPAP experience are ideal
  • Be able to properly communicate to internal and external customers
  • Capable of developing work instructions and presentations
  • Specific knowledge in IATF 16949, 8 Disciplines, and root cause analysis (5 WHYs)
  • Trained or willing to go for training in applicable quality and engineering practices: CQE, CQM, and CQA desirable
  • Experience with information technologies. Computer packages literate (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in the use of Internet and e-mail, Google Workspace experience
  • Additional points given to: Lean manufacturing environment; Inspection and test methods; APQP, SPC methods and techniques; IATF 16949 Internal auditor training; Knowledge in plastic extrusion
