Our partnered hiring client provides expert design build solutions in shoring systems, all types of piles and deep foundations, slurry cut-off walls, ground improvement, and other specialty geotechnical areas.

Job Title: Short-Term  HSE Advisor (Mining Site)

Compensation:

An attractive hourly rate plus overtime paid after 44 hour (x 1.5)/ All accommodations are paid for

Role & Project Summary:

This position is based in Sudbury, Ontario and will report directly to the corporate’s HSE Director, the HSE advisor will oversee a project at a mining site in Sudbury.

Description of project:  Installing a secant pile wall to mitigate leaching of contaminated water to nearly community housing. The project will be completed in two phases –

  1. Phase one is a test phase where we will be installing 5 piles and preparing all the paperwork, this is to prove the drilling technique. The planned length of time for this phase is 1 month.
  2. Phase two will be the completion of the wall and the planned length of time for this is 3 months.

Note: the intent is that these phases will run concurrently but it does depend on the results of  the test phase working as expected.

Hours of Work                         

  • Phase one will be on a 5 and 2 basis working 12-hour days – Over time will be paid in accordance with local labour laws.
  • Phase two will be on a 14/7 rotation working 12-hour days – Over time will be paid in accordance with local labour laws.

    To be considered for this role, the ”HSE Advisor” you have the following qualification:

    • University or college education with a focus OHS,  enivironmental or or similar discipline
    • Minimum  5-10 years of experience in Health & Safety role within an oil and gas or a mining environment or construction other industrial projects.
    • NCSO or CRSP designation
    • Demonstrated  strong experience & knowledge  in safety legislation
