Company (Client) Overview:

Our partnered client is a technology-driven leader in natural gas sweetening applications, integral to global sustainability megatrends. They operate in the chemical manufacturing sector in the US and Canada.

Job Title: HSE Site Technician/Supervior

Employment Type: Temporary/ Short-Term (6 Months)

Compensation:

The company will pay an hourly rate, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked beyond 44 per week.

Job Summary:

The HSE site technician/supervisor, reporting to the HSEQ Manager based in the US, will oversee a construction project located between Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan. The project is estimated to take at least six months from start to finish.

A Summary of Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Implement and maintain company Health, Environmental, and Safety programs for the construction project;
  • Provide safety training to site employees and contractors;
  • Assist investigation team to determine root causes of incidents and track closure of corrective actions,
  • Maintain safety and environmental records;
  • Lead Job Safety Analysis and Behavior-based Safety programs on site;
  • Oversee inspection of equipments and work processes daily to ensure compliance with Health, Environmental, and Safety regulations.
  • Perform fire watch and confined space oversight as needed;
  • Ensure Permit To Work is in place when required;
  • Report metrics and status of HES program periodically to HESSQ Manager;
  • And more as diredcted.

    To be considered for this role, the HSE Site Technitian/ Superviror should have the following qualification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, Certificate or Diploma in Health & Safety or Environmental Studies
    • 5+ years of experience in Health & Safety roles, preferably in the construction industry
    • Able to work as part of a team ensure safe work behaviors
    • Ability to work independently, reporting to HESSQ Manager offsite
    • Comfortable using Stop Work Authority when needed to keep personnel safe and to ensure compliance
    • Able to work outdoors at times as required (in Edmonton, Alberta)
